Muffin visits the Donkey Sanctuary

What a fantastic day!

On Sunday 8th May we all packed up to visit one of the Donkey Sanctuary farms, Town Barton, on the outskirts of Tedburn St Mary. Muffin and all his friends were extremely excited as we were not only meeting donkeys but mules too! They have the largest barren (I’m reliably informed that this is the collective noun for mules) of mules in the country.

This was all part of Muffin’s 70th birthday celebrations where we were to deliver a presentation and short show to the Donkey Weekers as part of their Donkey Week. The staff were fantastic and very welcoming, helping to get things just right for us all.

It was wonderful to see so many people there showing a huge interest and delight in seeing Muffin back on stage and hearing his story. It seemed that he managed with his friends to bring back and trigger many memories for the older viewer as well as intrigue and fascinate some of the younger children too. The highlight for many was being able to have their photo taken with this loveable and historic puppet.DSC_1148 (640x427)
