Muffin’s 70th Birthday Party
The sun was shining on Sunday as Muffin the Mule had his 70th Birthday Party at Pennywell Farm. In the morning the team delivered one of their presentations / shows to the Pennywell Farm customers where they were introduced to Muffin and his friends, shown an original programme of ‘Muffin and the Squeaking Shoes’ which was rounded off with a puppet show starring Muffin!
The afternoon was much more relaxed in the company of the guest of honour Susie Blake (although Muffin thought she should be 2nd guest of honour behind him, however, a rousing rendition of ‘We Want Muffin’ soon put that to bed)! A delicious cream tea was served on arrival before the speeches got underway from Pennywell Manager Jesse, and one by me (Will). The party was completed by singing the traditional ‘Happy Birthday’ to Muffin, (and one of the guests Lilia-Rose who was 7), and an amazing cake was presented to Muffin – carrot cake of course – which was enjoyed by all. Muffin and his friends all had a wonderful time and enjoyed being the centre of attention again. Muffin struck up a great friendship with Susie and thought she was wonderful. He couldn’t put his hoof on it but she was vaguely familiar, eventually the carrot dropped as he realised Susie was Annette Mills’ granddaughter!
